App and RFID public charging costs

Treat an app price and an RFID price as separate inputs unless the current service explicitly shows they are the same. Record membership state, payment provider, maximum p/kWh and observation time for the exact route used. Do not infer a saving because E2 contains no admitted current operator price observations.

Across the UK, as at 12 August 2026, an app or RFID public-charging cost check must stay tied to the exact payment provider, account or membership state, displayed price and observation time. Third-party roaming may use either channel, but no app or card has universal acceptance, and EV Evidence has no current operator price defaults.

Compare a UK public-charging app or RFID route using only the exact current channel price and membership inputs you observe.

Create a channel-specific record

For each observation, store app or RFID, the payment provider, operator, account or membership state, point identifier, maximum p/kWh and timestamp. Never copy one channel's price into another blank field.

Calculate only from matching inputs

For a chosen energy amount, channel cost in pounds = the user-observed p/kWh × kWh ÷ 100, plus only any separately applicable user-entered cost. Compare channels only when both observations are current and their membership assumptions are stated.

Do not infer acceptance

From 24 November 2025 an in-scope paid network must connect to at least one external roaming provider, but that does not make every app or RFID card accepted. Check the supported service before relying on it.
